Let Your Curiosity Be Our Guide

If you asked us to characterize our culture and history in this part of the world, we’d sum it up in two words: fascinating and colourful! From mining ghost towns and abandoned WWII bunkers buried deep in the woods; to castles, grand hotels and exquisitely restored heritage buildings, we’ll tour you through Victoria and Vancouver Island’s cultural history so you can take a deep dive into your own curiosity.

We can design a tour that takes you into the colourful (and often contentious!) past of Victoria, the Island, and the surrounding Gulf Islands, starting as far back as the end of the last ice age, when Indigenous people began to live and thrive here. Enter the Spanish and British explorers in the late 1700s, and a new era began.

The City of Victoria still holds relics from its beginnings as a fur trading post and gold mining boom town. Chinatown is a treasure in itself; here, you can discover the beginnings of the cultural and historical heritage brought by Chinese and Japanese artisans, workers and traders in the City’s earliest days.

There were ordinary folks and heroes, villains, eccentrics and extraordinary leaders. Stories from our past range from mysteries and swashbuckling adventures, to romances, comedies and yes, tragedies too. We’d love to take you on an unforgettable tour of the past, and show you how our heritage shaped the present.
